I’ve been crunching for finals the past few weeks, and have slipped on my Google+ and Facebook announcements. My apologies. I have, however, been continuing to pump out content here on Runicfire, and I’d like to catch up any readers who follow me on Facebook or Google+ on what they might have missed. Recap begins beneath the jump:
On April 26th I discussed the hopeful, yet dismal science of hydrogen fuel cells. The technology shows promise, and we’re even able to commercialize it now. The problem? Infrastructure.
Monday links for April 29th featured articles on gigabit WiFi replacing computer cables, continuing global warming denialism, and the duration of the longest sunset you can observe.
May 3rd saw a double post. First was Part 3 of “The Case For Global Warming,” my series on the phenomenon of anthropogenic global warming, how it happens, how we know it’s happening, and—in this final installment—how much of a risk it poses to human life and civilization. If you missed the earlier installments, you can read Part 1 here and Part 2 here.
I also announced the Kickstarter campaign for my novel, Rosaria of Venice. The campaign begins on May 24th. Proceeds will fund the cover illustration and editing costs. Backers will get to vote on the final cover as well. Go take a gander at the candidates!
And earlier today, May 6th, we had another round of Monday links. The subjects included time (and how to define it), the difficulty in understanding the mind through the brain, the launch of Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShipTwo, and what the Economist is calling a Northern Irish “culture war” echoing that of the United States.
I hope all these lovely articles strike your fancy. With finals over, I will be making sure to get the word out more quickly. So please, keep an eye on your feed for new posts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. See you then!
